Christina Tsagaraki is the Projects Coordinator for the Foundación ILAM (Instituto Latinoamericano de Museos) and has the overall responsibility for the institution’s portal which is focused on the presentation and preservation of the Latin American and Caribbean Cultural and Natural Heritage (www.ilam.org, www.fundacionilam.org)
She has a Bachelor in Archaeology and History of Art, University of Crete, Greece (1995); a Master Degree in Museology, Reinwardt Academy, Amsterdam School of the Arts, Holland with emphasis on Company Museums (1998).
Since 2001 has been working with the Foundation ILAM through which she has Coordinated a series of projects among others the Link-All project (www.link-all.org) (Local-communities Insertion NetworK para América Latina) funded under the @lis Programme supported by the EC-EuropeAid Co-operation Office (2003-2006); Survey of the Situation of 35 Central American Museums, funded by Red-Camus and SIDA Sweden (2005-2006); the Coordination of Museological Projects such as the Creation of the Museo del Café in Costa Rica (private 2006); The restructuring of the Museo de Arqueología en Comayagua and the Museo de Antropología e Historia en San Pedro Sula, Honduras, (sponsored by UNESCO, 2007).
Additionally she has been a Consultant for UNESCO on projects promoting Local Development through Culture, among others: “Heritage Routes: Cultural Offer of the Central American Museums near the Declared World Heritage Monuments of the isthmus” 2008, Fondo Fiduciario PNUD-España for the achievement of Objectives of the Millennium “Intercultural Policies for the Inclusion and Generation of Opportunities, 2008-2010”, Costa Rica.
She has attended the previous roundatable meetings of CultureMondo in Japan and Cuba.
