Faridah Noor Mohd Noor
Faridah Noor Mohd Noor, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of English Language, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, the University of Malaya. She holds a Doctorate (Academic Discourse) from the University of Malaya, M.A. (English) from Iowa State University, USA, and B.A. (TESOL) from the University of Northern Iowa, USA. She was awarded the the Freidrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Research Fellowship for her sabbatical leave at the Free University of Berlin. Berlin, Germany, (December 2006 – May 2007). She has been involved with research activities in eCulture since 2003 and has attended international meetings and conferences that promote eCulture. Among them are the 2nd and 3rd Asian DHX Forum (2005/2006) in Korea, APAN meetings of which she is involved as the Co-Chair of the eCulture WG since 2006 and MYREN's eCulture activities. In 2008 she has been active with Academia Sinica's ISGC 2008 on Grid Computing in Taipeh, Taiwan (7-11 April), APAN Meeting in New Zealand (4-8 August) and European Commission's SEACOOP Project in Brussels, Belgium, to present her team's proposal on an "ASEAN-EU Virtual Immersive Museum of Arts and Culture' (6&7 October 2008). Upcoming meetings will include the 4th Asian DHX Forum in Seoul, Korea, from 17 and 18 November 2008 and this December's Culture Mondo roundtable in Taipei, Taiwan.
